The Process Bridge Explained

What is what

A process bridge is a VISUALย STRUCTURE to show an entire process in ONE OVERVIEW.

Use this for your project.ย

For example. A firm sends out consultants to facilitate a 6 month innovation track at their client’s location. These consultants should be able to show the process of entire project, but also the detailed steps within each phase.ย

With a process bridge you can do both.

How To

Following these 4 steps to make a process bridge for your own project.

  1. COLLECT – Brainstorm and write down how many steps or phases there are in the process you want to visualize.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Aim for 3 to 5 steps for readability.
  2. WORDS – Describe the steps or phases.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Keep it as short as possible.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Write the words on one line to increase readability.
๐Ÿ‘‰ When adding details, words write DOWN.
  3. DRAWINGS – Create drawings based on what you explain the step or phase means.
๐Ÿ‘‰ The drawing should complement and confirm what your wrote down in words.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Draw through the top line of the ‘arrow’ and above it. This makes the process bridge look like a platform.
๐Ÿ‘‰ When adding details, build your drawing UP.
  4. MAKE IT LOOK GOOD – Add a frame that draws attention to your process bridge.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Pick a spot for your title, by simply looking ‘where do I have space?’
๐Ÿ‘‰ Decide if you want accentuate the beginning, the end or both parts of the process bridge.
